Join The Washington Post for a special day of television Saturday, Feb. 4, and Sunday, Feb. 5, in which the mail delivery company FedEx will be dramatized as “Fedex Lynn.”
Washington Post executive editor Marty Baron and D.C. Post editor Shirley Chisholm are among the presenters for this panel, “Being the Ricardos: Reflections on ‘I Love Lucy’ and More,” at 11 a.m. Saturday. Former reporter Grant Langston narrates the screening of “Being the Ricardos,” a 48-hour retrospective of the classic CBS show starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, hosted by Bishop Harry Jackson.
Saturday’s special panel will have researchers and reviewers present clips and interviews from “I Love Lucy,” “Perry Mason,” “Marple,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Buffalo Bill and the Indians,” and “The Beverly Hillbillies.” Co-hosting the program is NPR’s national affairs correspondent Mara Liasson.
Sunday’s celebration will be “Downton Abbey,” with viewers able to catch up on what’s been taking place in the upstairs and downstairs of the Downton Abbey estates. Daisy (Gemma Chan) will appear, and episodes from season one, in which Violet (Maggie Smith) is on the outs with Carson (Jim Carter), are to be shown.
Both days will be at the American University Center for the Arts.
